When you’re spending good money on a foot massager, you expect two things. First, the product should work as advertised. Second, if something goes wrong with your order, customer service should make fixing the problem simple.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience with EMSense. I originally ordered what I thought was a single EMSense foot massager. Instead, I ended up dealing with unwanted extra products, unexpected charges, a difficult return process, and a product that didn’t perform the way the company claimed. If you’re searching for an honest EMSense review, here’s exactly what happened.
EMSense Review

The EMSense website presents its foot massager as a premium device designed to provide heat therapy, vibration, and compression for tired, aching feet.
The advertising makes it sound like a professional foot therapy device that delivers multiple forms of relief in one product, After using it myself, I don’t think the experience lived up to those promises.
My Ordering Experience

The problems started before the package even arrived.
I intended to buy one EMSense foot massager.
After entering my payment details and completing the checkout, I realized that two additional units had somehow been added to my order, I contacted customer support almost immediately because I assumed the mistake could easily be corrected before shipping. Instead, I was told there was nothing they could do until the order had already been delivered. That was frustrating because the issue had been reported within minutes. Rather than cancelling or correcting the order, I had to wait for products I never wanted to arrive before beginning the return process.
The Return Process Was Slow
Once the unwanted items arrived, I expected the return to be straightforward. It wasn’t. Resolving the issue involved weeks of emails, repeated explanations, and very little progress. To be fair, EMSense eventually refunded the unwanted products. However, there was one part of the experience that still didn’t sit right with me. I had to pay the return shipping myself. Considering I never intended to purchase those additional units in the first place, I don’t think customers should be responsible for paying to return products they didn’t knowingly order. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, I strongly recommend asking whether there’s a return address within your own country before shipping anything internationally. Doing that could save you a significant amount in postage costs.
An Unexpected Subscription
One surprise I definitely wasn’t expecting was discovering that I had apparently been enrolled in a monthly physiotherapy support program. I never intentionally signed up for any recurring subscription. Always check every screen carefully during checkout and review your confirmation email afterward to make sure no optional memberships or recurring charges have been added without your knowledge.
Does the EMSense Foot Massager Work?
This was probably the biggest disappointment. The company advertises three different therapy functions. In reality, I only experienced heat and vibration. The heating function worked as expected. The device also wraps around the foot easily enough. Beyond that, things went downhill. The vibration quickly became irritating rather than relaxing. After only a couple of minutes, I found myself repositioning the device to see if it would feel better on the arch of my foot. A few minutes later, I was ready to take it off completely. It simply wasn’t comfortable enough for me to finish the full treatment session.
Where Is the Compression?
One feature heavily promoted is compression. I honestly couldn’t find it. Instead of genuine compression massage, the device uses stationary air bladders that didn’t seem to provide any meaningful pressure. If you’re buying this expecting the type of compression offered by professional recovery boots or higher-end foot massagers, you may be disappointed.
The Controls Could Be Better
The controls also left something to be desired. The buttons feel stiff and aren’t particularly pleasant to use. The display isn’t very intuitive either. It took longer than it should have to understand which settings were active. For a product positioned as premium, I expected a much more user-friendly design.
Is EMSense Overpriced?
Personally, I think so. One thing that stood out while comparing products was the price. EMSense charges significantly more than many competing foot massagers. When I compared features and performance, I struggled to understand why. There are several alternatives available that cost much less while offering similar or even better functionality. Paying a premium only makes sense when the product clearly delivers something better. In my experience, that wasn’t the case here.
Is EMSense Worth Buying?
Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend it. The heating function works, but that’s about where the positives end. Between the ordering issues, the difficult customer service experience, the return shipping costs, the unexpected subscription, and a product that didn’t match its advertising, I left feeling disappointed. There are simply too many competing foot massagers available to justify paying a premium for an experience like this.
Conclusion
The device does provide heat, but the advertised compression was underwhelming, the vibration wasn’t particularly comfortable, and the overall user experience fell well short of expectations. Add in the ordering problems, the lengthy refund process, and the unexpected extra costs, and it’s difficult for me to recommend EMSense.
Before buying, compare it with other foot massagers in the same price range, read independent customer reviews, and make sure you understand exactly what you’re purchasing. A premium price should come with a premium experience, and in my case, it simply didn’t.
