Over the past few weeks, my social feeds have been flooded with slick ads claiming that Ryan Reynolds is backing a secret oil investment called “American Oil” supposedly helping regular people make $30,000 a month from just a $250 investment.

Let me say this upfront:
This is 100% a scam. Ryan Reynolds has nothing to do with it.

The Bait: A Deepfake Ryan Reynolds Video

The scam hinges on a disturbingly convincing deepfake video of Ryan Reynolds paired with a fake Fox Business article. The scammers even created a bogus news site, terapasulo.com designed to look like Fox Business, complete with fake quotes, logos, and fake interviews.

They claim Ryan has “quietly invested in a revolutionary American oil company” and is inviting people to join before the public finds out.

But here’s the truth:

  • There is no such company
  • The website is not affiliated with any real financial institution
  • Ryan Reynolds has never mentioned this project anywhere

The Hook: Get-Rich-Quick Hype

The fake page promises a “money-back guarantee” and shows charts of imaginary profits, testimonials from fake users, and a countdown clock to create urgency.

This is textbook scam behavior, pressure you to deposit $250 fast, then:

  • Lock you out of your “account”
  • Steal your credit card info
  • Disappear or demand more deposits for “unlocking profits”

There is no investing platform, no actual oil company, and no way to get your money back.

Red Flags You Shouldn’t Ignore

  • The website URL is not Fox Business
  • Ryan Reynolds has never promoted financial schemes
  • The promised earnings are unrealistic and unverified
  • The domain has zero verifiable contact info or licensing

Many victims who Googled “Ryan Reynolds American Oil reviews” or “American Oil scam” only realized after losing money that they had been duped by a fake celebrity endorsement.

Total Scam

American Oil is not a real investment platform.
It’s just another celebrity-deepfake scam designed to steal your money and personal information.

If you’ve already given them money, contact your bank or card provider immediately to try to stop further charges.

Conclusion

Scammers love using celebrities to build instant trust. But if something promises you $30,000 a month with zero experience, it’s a lie.

Ryan Reynolds is an actor, not an oil mogul, and he is absolutely not giving out secret investment invites.
